Effects Based Operations, Military Organization and Professionalization

This volume analyzes the concept of Effect-Based Operations (EBO), and its consequences for military organization and professionalization. Military professionalization requires - like in the past - the understanding of technological modernization, but will demand more refined skills regarding the use of organized violence. The concept of EBO serves to demonstrate the need for a reconsideration of the roe of the Swedish officer corps in an era when the nation-state no longer is the sole, and perhaps not even the primary, raison d´être for the military profession.
